These Images were captured during my visit to the eastern province of the country, where many places are hidden, unknown. So with some effort I could find out some places, only a few know about. And I decided to go there and see for myself. That is how I found this place. As the Archaeology department branch in Rajagala says, this place was presented to Buddhist monk, Mihindu at the time of King Dutu Gamunu.

Even now you can see the rock caves, which were made for them to live in. Ancient sources of information were found in this place before some years ago. According to them Mihindu Thero's body was buried in this place, but no one has ever found a proof for that yet.

As the word describes, 'Rajagala' is a rocky mountain and you should climb to see the top of it. There is a stone stairway to the top of it. archaeologist believe that this stairway was made by the ancient people of Sri Lanka built them during the regime of king Gamunu.If you could get to the top of the rock you can see a wider area.

Stone bowls, which were found in Rajagala are amazing and even historians are thinking of the technology they had used to carve those rough stones into soft bowls. And also you can see some other things with historical value.

After the trip to Rajagala, you can visit some places you can enjoy! You can go camping, or a boat ride in some Tanks etc.
